 French globe de marriage,in 18th century France the fashion arose for newly married couples to preserve special,chosen items from their marriage ceremony as a memento of the day and  reminder of their love and commitment.
 
Inside a "glass" vitrine a highly unusual and delicate leaf headdress in 12th scale.
Finished in aged gold;it is a glorious mixture of tiny leaves and beads.At the back a vintage piece of lace,tied in a trailing bow.
It sits inside the case,which has a mirrored back.
There is also an intricate brass keyhole to the front.
